It was during the last AGM of our Association held on 3rd July 2015 that I last addressed you all. I was indeed very happy to see a large contingent of our members and guests having attended the function. I am sure you would have thoroughly enjoyed the night.
During the subsequent quarter, I would like to inform you that I met Shri Surjit Kumar Chaudhary, Secretary, DCPC once in July 2015 in Delhi and apprised him of the pressing issues related to our colorant industry. As per the discussion, matter regarding removal of industrial estates of Ankleshwar, Vatva and Ahmedbad from the critical list and grant of MDA for REACH regulations to our members were represented to Shri Chaudhary for further action. He had assured of his support in all our initiatives for the sustained growth of the industry, for which I am grateful to him.
Subsequently, I also called on the new incumbent Joint Secretary, Shri Samir Kumar Biswas, and discussed with him a range of issues concerning our industry. He also gave a patient hearing and agreed to support us.
Aftermath the grand success of the Conference in Coimbatore held in November 2013, I am happy to inform you that a similar Conference titled ‘Conference on Textiles: Business & Environment Sustainability - Challenges for the Colorants Industry’ is being organized by DMAI in Ludhiana on 19-20 February 2016, considering a large number of processing units situate in and around the area to provide a platform for the end-users of colorants and the manufacturers to interact for mutual benefits. The details are being worked out and shall be conveyed to you shortly. In the meantime, I appeal to you all to make your presence without fail, which would be very much beneficial to you.
I am happy to advise you that I have been appointed as one of the Programme Committee Members for the forthcoming ITMA 2015 to be held on 12 – 19 November 2015, at Fiera Milano Rho, Milan, Italy by the organisers. On my recommendation, Dr.Pankaj Desai of Colourtex Industries Pvt Ltd has been invited to make a presentation from India at this Conference.
Your Association has taken sincere efforts to update your profile in the website and members directory, the process of which is on the anvil. I earnestly request you all to send immediately the required particulars in KYM form sent to you by the Secretariat earlier, if not already done so, in your own interest.
I am pained to note that despite regular follow up, a few of our members have not yet paid their membership subscription dues to the Association. I earnestly appeal to you to look into the matter and clear off all your dues immediately to enable us to strengthen our financial base.
